Surviving the odds – the magic of empowering mothers

In the patriarch society of Rajasthan, born after four boys baby Noor is special to her mother and family. Born nearly two months premature, the newborn weighed less than 1200 grams and was very weak. Noor’s mother Lali Devi was disappointed and lost hope on her survival.


Scale up of NIPI innovations!

The state of Madhya Pradesh has decided to scale up NIPI innovation of Family Centred Care (FCC) across all its 51 district Sick and New Born Care Unit (SNCU’s).

A zonal level orientation workshop for Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) was organized by BMO, Darhal at CHC Thannamandi, Block Darhal, District Rajouri on 29th April 2016.

CoN Ujjain and Jabalpur certified as State Nodal Centres

The certification, conducted in the month of March, was granted after College of Nursing, Ujjain and Jabalpur, achieved 78% and 71% performance standards respectively.

The fourth Joint Steering Committee (JSC) meeting of Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI) was held on 25th February 2016 in New Delhi.


Support in Mission Indradhanush in Jammu and Kashmir

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government. of India launched Mission Indradhanush in December 2014 as a special drive to vaccinate all unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children under its Universal Immunization Program.


NIPI Newborn Project Review Meeting

A national meeting of all NIPI staff was held at Delhi on 14-16th January 2016, to introduce the team to new administrative requirements under IPE Global, review the project performance in 2015 and set the agenda for 2016.

NIPI Newborn project facilitated Training of Master Trainers for Family Centred Care for newborns under National Health Mission, Odisha.


Fourth NIPI Program Advisory Group (PAG) Meeting 2th February 2016
Jammu and Kashmir

The fourth Program Advisory Group (PAG) meeting of Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI) was held on 2ndFebruary 2016 in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was chaired by Mr. C.K. Mishra, Additional Secretary and Mission Director (AS&MD), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India.

ANMs Role in Delivering RMNCH+A Healthcare Services

Auxiliary Nurse Midwifes (ANM) was imbibed into the Indian Health system as a midwife to provide MCH services such as conducting delivery.
