The fourth Program Advisory Group (PAG) meeting of Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI) was held on 2nd February 2016 in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was chaired by Mr. C.K. Mishra, Additional Secretary and Mission Director (AS&MD), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India.
The PAG is the technical committee for engaging with the National Health Mission (NHM) leadership, integrating NIPI activities with the NHM strategies as part of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Governments of Norway and India governing NIPI.The NIPI PAG members meet once a year to discuss the status of NIPI innovations/ strategic support and recommendations by PAG for scale up. The proposed new work areas for implementing partners are also discussed.
The meeting was attended by Counsellor (Health), Royal Norwegian Embassy, Ms. Unni Silkoset, Commissioner Secretary (Health and Medical Education), Jammu and Kashmir, Dr.M.K. Bhandari. Deputy Commissioners for Child Health and Maternal Health, Mission Directors from the NIPI states of Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Odisha were also present.
NIPI implementing partners made detailed presentations on the progress of the innovations and their scale up. The members were apprised of the institutional collaborations between Indian and Norwegian institutions. Representatives from Kalawati Saran Children’s Hospital (KSCH) were invited to present their research proposal and future plans. The INCLEN Trust and Sambodhi Research and Communications were presented their evaluation studies.
