The 4th National Summit on Good, Replicable Practices and Innovations in Public Health Care Systems at Indore, Madhya Pradesh was inaugurated by Ms. Sumitra Mahajan, Speaker of the Lok Sabha in the city of Indore, State of Madhya Pradesh . The objective of the summit was to share and learn from the good practices and innovations adopted by different states in addressing various health challenges.
Following major gains for Norway India Partnership Initiative were achieved in the summit- The state of Rajasthan showcased Regional New Born resource Centres as a doable model for scale up of quality newborn care which can be replicated in other states. The state of Odisha showcased HBNC+ Model for reducing diarrheoa and Pneumonia. Besides this Family Participatory Care operational guidelines for country wide roll out with budgetary provisions were released and the Dakshata implementation package released for country wide scale up.Secretary Health, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India specifically acknowledged the role of development partners especially Norway India Partnership Initiative for the support and for creating an environment of innovations in the country.
The summit was well attended by Ministers of State for Health and Family Welfare, Health Minister, State of Madhya Pradesh Additional Secretary and Joint Secretaries of MoHFW, Principal Health Secretaries and Mission Directors of the all the states and union territories were also present at the occasion.
