State Resource Center for Newborn Care provides mentoring to SNCU at Sheikhpura, Bihar

To strengthen the facility based newborn care in the State, the Government of Bihar established a State Resource Centre (SRC) for Newborn Care at the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH), Patna in the year 2014with the support of the UNDP – NIPI Newborn project. The objective of the SRC is to build capacity of staff, provide on-going supportive supervision to SNCUs and ensure quality of care in SNCUs.


BrazilIndia Learning Exchange Programme

The Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI) in association with PATH facilitated the India – Brazil learning exchange program from 22 June – 3 July 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Delegates included technical experts from AIIMS (New Delhi), Sahyadri Hospital (Mumbai), PATH, Oslo University Hospital in Norway.


Norway congratulates India on hosting the Call to Action 2015 Summit!

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India co-hosted the Call to Action Summit 2015 on 27-28 August 2015 in New Delhi for ending preventable child and maternal deaths, along with Ministry of Health, Government of Ethiopia. USAID, UNICEF, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Tata Trustswere the supporting co-hosts, also supported by UK Aid, NIPI and UNPFA.


Zonal Training of District Level Monitors (DLMs) on Supportive Supervision in RMNCH+A

A zonal training for district level monitors from all over North India on supportive supervision checklist was held in Srinagar 27th -29th April under the National Reproductive Maternal New Born Child Health and Adolescent strategy (RMNCH+A) strategy.


Involving Families in Care and Opening of Pediatric Emergency Services

A Family Centered Care (FCC) and Emergency triaging assessment and treatment (ETAT) centres, developed with Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI) support, were inaugurated in the district hospitals of Jharsuguda in Odisha and Raisen in Madhya Pradesh on 2nd October and 6th October 2015 respectively.


Training on Paediatric Emergency Triage and Treatment 1-3 September 2015, New Delhi

A training workshop on Paediatric Emergency Triage Assessment and Treatment (ETAT) was held at Kalawati Saran Children’s Hospital, New Delhi on 1st-3rd September 2015. The purpose of the training was to provide skills for paediatric ETAT and to share the operational plan for setting up paediatric emergency care services in district hospitals.

HISP India&University of Oslo conducted a residential workshop on Best Practices in DHIS2 enabled Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) from 22 – 26 June 2015 at Gurgaon, Haryana.

Ten days Training of Trainers for Strengthening of Pre-Service Education of nurse-midwives at Patna’s State Nodal Center

Between August 31 and September 10, 2015, Jhpiego, with support from the Norway India Partnership Initiative organized and facilitated the second 10-day Training of Trainers (ToT) at Bihar’s State Nodal Center of nursing excellence located at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Shekhpura, Patna.
